Chinese nationals nabbed in Ilocos Norte




PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte--Four Chinese nationals were collared by the police here after being found with a cache of weapons on Tuesday (May 28), a police report said.

Sr. Insp. Joseph Baltazar, Pasuquin chief of police, said that the suspects were caught in a checkpoint after trying to escape from a separate incident where they broke glass bottles in a gasoline station in Nagsanga village of this town.

Chased by angry workers and bystanders, the suspects fled on board a Toyota vehicle. 

Responding policemen blocked the suspects in an established police checkpoint in Dadila village, forcing them to peacefully disembark from the vehicle. 

The policemen later found out several firearms and explosives including three 9mm sub-machine guns, Caliber .45 and 9mm pistols, fragmentation grenade, and an improvised bomb.

Baltazar identified the suspects as a certain Dang Hoi, Lui Xin, Lei Guang Feng, and Dennis Co. 

The identities of the suspects are still being verified by the authorities.
