Election violence claims 3 lives, 7 hurt

Three members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines were killed by the latest election-related violent incidents that transpired today.

In Agao-ao village in Ragay town, Camarines Sur, the security patrol led by Sgt Emberto of the 49th Infantry Battalion was engaged by suspected NPA bandits at around 4:00am.

A militiaman lay dead while two others were wounded in the said early morning clash. The soldiers were deployed to prevent violent attacks during the election period.

In Kalinga province, two soldiers were killed while 5 others were wounded when the KM 450 truck carrying PCOS machines was waylaid by heavily armed gunmen at around 9:30am.

The military escorts led by Cpt Dominador Tarranza retaliated to defend themselves and to extricate the casualties.

The wounded soldiers were brought to a local hospital in Lubuagan town for treatment.

Army soldiers are directed to take extra measures in order to prevent atrocities during the election period.

Despite the incident, the soldiers remain committed in performing their mandate of serving the people.

  1. Sir Ranger C;

    I am fusing with anger on these reds. When will they stop? They are not Filipino's. I condemn their deeds! They don't represent us as voters. They should respect our freedom to vote!

    As for the family of the bereaved, I pay my respects. Thank you very much for allowing us to 'use' your love one as an instrument of good deeds. The country and its' citizens are indebted by their sacrifice. And will also be with you in mourning.

  2. Actually for me, in order that the commies to stop, the government itself should not treating them as babies. The government should know the lies and deception of the commies. The people also should be aware that there are also commies in the congress which acts as the legal shield so that's why these NPAs are still at large. The commie groups that are in the congress are: Bayan Muna, Gabriela, Kabataan, Anakpawis, Akbayan, Sanlakas and Katribu and the voters should aware to not to vote for them. We are only democratic country in this world aside Columbia for still having the communist insurgents. Please support also groups that are focused in advocating to stop these communist insurgency such as ANAD and PRO DEM Alliance.
