It's more fun in Eastern Visayas: My adventures in Leyte and Samar

I haven't visited Leyte in the past and my idea about this beautiful place is confined to what is written in history books. This is where the largest naval battle took place during the 2nd World War. Mc Arthur fulfilled his promise of "I shall return" by choosing to wade in the waters of Palo beach when the US forces came back to retake the Philippine islands from the Japanese. The image above is a screen capture of the Google Map showing Tacloban City and the Daniel Romualdez Airport.

While we were preparing to land at the airport, I took this photo of Tacloban City.

This is another image of the city that I took while aboard the UH1H 'Huey' Chopper. The strip of land on the left side of the photo is the location of the airport.

This is the clearer view of the airport. The lead chopper is preparing to land as I clicked my camera.

The helipad is located a few meters away from the airport.

Our Air Force pilots led the prayers before we boarded the choppers bound for Catbalogan in Samar

My trip buddies are all smiles as we prepared to fly and see the scenic spots from the sky above.
Welcome to the beautiful islands of Eastern Visayas! These images captivated me.

Shown below are the images of the longest bridge in the country, the San Juanico Bridge which links the provinces of Samar and Leyte. What a nice gift, President Ferdie Marcos!

I  took this video of the beautiful sight below me as we did 'island hopping' like what Mc Arthur did during the war. It is more fun in Eastern Visayas! I shall return!
