My VIP Visitor

I fell in love with photography in 2010 when I was assigned in the Bicol Region. I bought my own camera, a Nikon D90. I have taken numerous interesting photos and videos using this entry camera.

Taking photos for VIP visitors of the AFP is not a job for me. I love doing it. In some occasions, I joined my photographers to cover some events. It is both fulfilling and fun for me.

General Datuk Hj Zulkifli Bin Hj Zainal Abidin, Chief of Army of Malaysia, was the last VIP visitor who was received by then CGPA Lt Gen Arturo Ortiz days prior to his retirement in November 2011. This photo was taken during the arrival honors tendered by the Security and Escort Battalion for him.

I accompanied him when he visited his alma mater, the Asian Institute for Management where he took his post graduate studies in the late 1990s.

Farewell dinner at the hotel. There was a cultural presentation showing the native Filipino dances. It was an opportunity to show the interrelated cultures of the Malaysians and the Filipinos who descended from the the 10 Bornean datus who migrated here long time ago.

Through this activity, we gained another friend. The simple token that we gave him was an album containing memorable photographs that we took in all his engagement areas.
