FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – Military officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as well as their foreign counterparts, completed the preparatory course in Public Management at the Development Academy of the Philippines last December 8, an Army official said.
Major Harold M Cabunoc, Army Spokesperson, said that some 104 students from the AFP, the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF), and the Indonesian Army were awarded certificates in Public Management for completing the preparatory and core courses of the Master in Public Management major in Development Security (MPM-DevSec).
“The quality education provided for by the Development Academy of the Philippines will greatly help our officers in crafting policies and programs for the AFP,” said Cabunoc.
The occasion was graced by Brigadier General Benito De Leon, Assistant Commandant of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Command and General Staff College (AFPCGSC).
The 15-unit certificate course in Public Management is the first step to achieving a 36-unit degree in MPM-DevSec, a twinning program of the DAP Graduate School and the AFPCGSC customized and designed for AFP officers and other defense and security practitioners.
Being the first in Asia to offer a graduate degree on Development and Security, DAP-Graduate School continues its vision to achieve peace and prosperity through melding and balancing the relevant and key substantive subfields of national security and national development into a focused, single-minded, and a coherent whole.
