Army Chief Boosts Morale of Wounded Soldiers

Major General Emmanuel 'Manny' Bautista, the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, comforts a wounded soldier during his visit to the Army General Hospital yesterday, Dec 22. Bautista distributed gift certificates and noche buena package for the soldiers who are recuperating in the said medical facility.

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – Army Chief Major General Emmanuel T Bautista brought holiday cheers and joy to Army soldiers confined at the Army General Hospital yesterday morning, Dec 22.
Major Harold M Cabunoc, Army Spokesperson, said that the gift giving activity is part of the morale and welfare program of the Philippine Army.
“During this holiday season, our Commanding General gives back to our soldiers who have risked their lives and limb for the welfare of others. This is a fulfillment of the Army leadership’s commitment to serve the soldiers better,” said Cabunoc.
The Army Chief, together with other high ranking officials of the Command, visited the different wards in the hospital and personally handed out the gifts. Bautista likewise checked on the conditions of the patients.
“We are doing this to boost the morale of our soldiers. In the spirit of the coming holiday, I believe that every soldier deserves to be given the opportunity to enjoy Christmas,” said Bautista.
All 150 military personnel and dependents confined were given assorted grocery items for their noche buena. The 17 battle casualty soldiers were also given P1000 worth of gift certificates. 
The patients were very grateful for the visit of the top Army officer and for the overwhelming gifts.
It can be recalled that just recently the Army General Hospital underwent renovation for the improvement of its facilities. New and state-of-the-art equipment’s are also acquired to cater to the needs of the soldiers.
Following the lead of their Commanding General, other Commanders of various divisions of the Army nationwide will also visit their respective station hospitals to bring holiday cheers to the soldiers.
